2010 Humanitarian Bowl UDrove Humanitarian Bowl Northern Illinois Huskies vs Fresno State Bulldogs will be the fourteenth edition of the college football bowl game, and will be played at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Idaho, on the campus of Boise State University. Fresno State (8-4) closed its regular season with a 25-23 non-conference home victory over Illinois — a team that beat NIU 28-22 in September. Bulldogs will play in a bowl for the fourrh consecutive season, and for the 10th time in the last 11 years. QB Chandler Harnish and RB Chad Spann is the key to survival here in the Humanitarian Bowl for the Huskies.
Huskies are 2-9 ATS over their last 11 against teams with winning records. Bulldogs are 5-2 ATS over their last seven non-conference affairs. Fresno State opened the season with a resounding win over Cincinnati that became quieter as the weeks went on and the Bearcats slipped down the Big East standings. The Huskies are 2-3 in bowl play and have dropped their last three. The last was a 27-3 decision to South Florida in the International Bowl in 2009.
Fresno State was invited to the Humanitarian Bowl after posting an 8-4 regular season record. Fresno State won their season finale against Illinois, 25-23.This will be the 3rd time that Fresno St. will appear in the Humanitarian Bowl. Northern Illinois will make its third straight bowl appearance and will play in a postseason game for the sixth time in the last seven seasons. The Huskies were ranked in the top 25 in the BCS after winning nine straight games and went undefeated in the Mid-American Conference during the regular season.
